Landing deals with the big logo companies
Excerpt:This is an excerpt from my upcoming book, "How to Close a Deal Like Warren Buffett - Lessons from the World's Greatest Dealmaker" written with Henry DeVries and published by McGraw-Hill, available now. In 1962, Warren merged all his partnerships into one, then invested in and eventually took control of a textile manufacturing firm, Berkshire Hathaway, which would become his holding company. However, he regards the deal not as a great triumph but perhaps as his biggest deal-making blunder. "You might think this principle is obvious, but I had to learn it the hard way -- in fact, I had to learn it several times over," Buffett wrote in his 1989 letter. "Shortly after purchasing Berkshire, I acquired a Baltimore department store, Hochschild Kohn, buying through a company called Diversified Retailing that later merged with Berkshire.

Key:
- Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
- The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
- The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).
Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
